Otaku Valley Updates

I feel that this GIF really matches the name of my blog, Otaku Valley! An anime character running along an endless valley. How nice! (The character is Wendy Marvell from Fairy Tail, by the way)

So, some updates about my blog!

I will update at least twice a week, usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I will feature different animes and mangas (reviews), and talk about J-Pop / anisong, vocaloids, and mangakas. Basically anything anime related! ^ v ^

OK, will update again soon!

Vocaloid

Heya fellow Otakus!

Today's topic is .... *drum roll* VOCALOIDS!

(Note: "Ren" should be spelt as "Len".)

How can any otaku not know vocaloids? Surely, you should know Hatsune Miku, at least.

Anyway, for those who don't know, or if you stumbled upon my blog and are not an Otaku, here we go!

What is a vocaloid?

Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer. This software allows users to synthesize singing by typing in lyrics and melody. It uses synthesizing technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a song, the user must add the melody and lyrics. A piano roll type interface is used to add the melody and the lyrics can be entered on each note. The software can change the stress of the pronunciations, add effects such as vibrato, or change the dynamics and tone of the voice. Each Vocaloid is sold as "a singer in a box" designed to act as a replacement for an actual singer.

HATSUNE MIKU!!! <3

Miku Fun Facts:
  1. Her name "Hatsune Miku" comes from a fusion of the Japanese for first ( hatsu), sound ( neand future (Miku (ミク) sounds like a reading of future, 未来, "mirai").
  2. Miku is the first of Crypton's "Character Vocal Series
  3. She was the second Vocaloid to be sold using the Vocaloid 2 engine.
  4. First Japanese Vocaloid to use the Japanese version of the Vocaloid 2 engine.
  5. Voice provider: Saki Fujita

Most popular song by Hatsune Miku: World is Mine

That's right, she performs "live" as well! Sugoi ne?

Cosplay

Hiya! Today I'll be talking about cosplay.

I must admit I used to dislike cosplay. I thought it was well... weird. BUT I totally changed my mind when I saw an awesome Erza Scarlet cosplay on tumblr!

Um... this isn't the one I'm talking about though. I just can't seem to find it any more (did I not reblog/ like it on tumblr? How could I???) *sniff* Anyway, here's another great cosplay or Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail!

And as for this...

I find it EXTREMELY FAMILIAR! I think I saw those eyes before. This should be the one! Except that I remember the photo I saw wasn't just with her face. Anyway it's great right? ^ v ^

Erza Scarlet is awesome. Erza Scarlet cosplayers are awesome too!

Fairy Tail

Decided to start filling my blog with reviews. I will be writing reviews on anime, manga, vocaloid, and J-Pop.

To start things off, here's a review about Fairy Tail. Although I wrote about it in my previous / first post, it's not enough to be a proper review.

Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail is created by Hiro Mashima, the creator of Rave Master. It belongs to genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Ecchi, Fantasy, Shounen, and Supernatural. (as seen in Manga Reader)

The Plot:
17-year-old Lucy Heartfilia's dream is to join Fairy Tail, a renowned wizard's guild. She meets Natsu, who could not handle any kind of transportation, as well as his flying cat Happy. What she didn't know at first was that Natsu was actually a wizard from Fairy Tail.

That's a brief introduction of the story. Wouldn't want to spoil the story too much!

Why you should watch Fairy Tail:
If you like animes that can make you laugh so much that your stomach hurts and make you cry sometimes, Fairy Tail is the anime for you. Its hilarious scenes can keep you laughing for hours, while its heartrending scenes can make you shed tears for the characters.

For me, it's one of those animes that never fail to cheer me up. I hope you'll like watching it too! For more reviews about Fairy Tail, read my previous post.

So now, off you go to watch this exciting anime series! FAIRY TAIL!!!

Otaku

I am an Otaku. Probably not the serious kind that goes cosplaying (I don't have the money for that) but still, an otaku. I love, love, love, manga and anime. Not forgetting vocaloid!

Don't you feel that anime can cheer you up? When you're feeling sad, watching an episode of your favourite anime can make you feel much better. A hilarious episode can make you laugh your worries away.

To me, anime is my life.

The anime that I am currently watching is Fairy Tail. (That is no typo, it's really spelled that way). Fairy Tail is sooooo funny! I love Fairy Tail! Every episode is either filled with humour or action. You just can't help but continue watching! After every episode, you'll be left with a "Noooo! It ended! I need the next episode!"

Here's a warning though - apparently Fairy Tail has some ecchi so if you like ecchi, good for you, but if you don't, the manga might not be suitable for you. The anime, however, is better with less ecchi and more action with sound effects. The anime songs are great as well.

Nevertheless, the humour in the anime/ manga is the reason why Fairy Tail is so awesome!

You can read Fairy Tail on www.mangareader.net
or watch it on www.goodanime.net

Happy watching!
